John Smith

Owner
john@smithequipment.biz

I grew up on a farm north of Rupert, ID. In 1990, I started Smith Equipment Co. selling mostly fertilizer application and handling equipment. Today, we continue selling and servicing that same equipment with the addition of other agriculture related equipment.
The people in the agriculture industry are the best to work with anywhere. I really enjoy going to work each day and helping them get the equipment they need to operate their businesses.

I’m part of the team here at Smith Equipment Co., where I help growers and operators find the right equipment to keep their season moving. I work directly with fertilizer tenders, spreaders, plant equipment, hopper bottoms, trailers, and day cabs — making sure each customer gets a setup that truly fits their operation. My approach is simple: understand what you’re trying to get done and pair you with equipment that makes the job easier, faster, and more reliable.

I believe in being straightforward, responsive, and easy to work with. Whether you’re lining up spring rentals, comparing discharge options, or expanding your fleet, I’m here to make the process seamless and support you long after delivery.

Outside of work, you can usually find me showing cutting and cow horses, baking treats for friends and family, or spending time outdoors hunting and fishing. Those parts of my life keep me grounded, remind me of the communities we serve, and shape the work ethic I bring to every customer interaction.
